Powder Coating for Façades and Aluminium Joinery
Parts used outdoors must withstand sun, rain and temperature changes, so choosing powder coating needs more care than for indoor use.
Polyester or epoxy?
Polyester-based powders are usually chosen for outdoor use. Epoxy powders resist chemicals and wear well, but they can chalk on the surface over time in sunlight, so they are mostly used for indoor parts.
Pre-treatment comes before the coating
Aluminium or steel must be free of grease and oxide and given a suitable pre-treatment. Without it, even the best coating can blister or peel over time.
Thickness and curing
Film thickness and oven temperature and time depend on the product. These values are in the manufacturer’s technical data sheet and must be followed in application. Contact us to choose the right product for your line and parts.
If your project has a specification
Some façade and joinery projects require quality standards such as Qualicoat. Send us your specification and we will review suitable products together.
